| چکیده | ||
| Longitudinal seismic vibrations of box-type multistory buildings are studied with a spatial continual model: the building is a thick orthotropic plate described by the bimoment theory and is coupled to a slab foundation embedded in a compliant soil. The main contribution, replacing the rigid base of earlier plate models, is this building--foundation--soil formulation: reduced moduli and density follow from the wall--slab geometry, the equations of motion are completed by contact conditions at both interfaces, and the undamped\ problem is solved by an explicit finite-difference scheme. For 16-story buildings the first natural frequency is 1.73--1.95~Hz ($T_1=0.51$--0.58~s), of the same order as the Eurocode~8 estimate for wall buildings, which is used as a reference value; time histories and frequency responses are given; at $k_c=0.2$, $\nu_0=3$~Hz the peak horizontal\ roof displacement is 4.5--5.0~cm, considerably larger than the 2.2--2.5~cm given by an undamped fixed-base one-dimensional model. | ||
